Letizia Mass Media® hosted their annual employee appreciation event at Red Rock Lanes, inside Red Rock Casino this year. The staff enjoyed an assortment of Italian dishes and salads, as well as holiday desserts and an open bar. Expert bowlers got to flex their muscles, while the more novice bowlers aimed to score higher than a 62 and succeeded!).

Some highlights of the evening were the awards that were handed out. Michael Spielman took home the Rookie of the Year award for his mad bell ringing skills. Laura Nichols took home the valued Employee of the Year award and now carries the nickname “EOY”. Jeremie Watkins took home the executive Blue Feather Award for his tremendous leadership and was promoted to Vice President of Sales. The final award that was given on that night was a newly created award called the Mission Award. This award was created for the person who embodied the company mission statement on a daily basis and this year’s award went to Ken Rubino.

Tom and Marla take home the “Biggest Jaw Dropping Moment of the Year” award (this is not a recognized Letizia Mass Media® award). At the close of the festivities, Marla took the stage while Tom videotaped, and started talking about how both she and Oprah had auditioned for a radio talk show position in Chicago back in the day. Marla was not willing to take advantage of that position, because she had just met Tom and knew she had met the man she was going to spend the rest of her life with. She went on to discuss how she’s always felt that she and Oprah have been on a similar spiritual path since then and she often wonders if she would’ve had the courage to do the things that Oprah went on to do.

Point of the story being that Tom and Marla decided to play “Tom and Marla’s Favorite Things” that night and give away something very valuable to every Letizia Mass Media® employee. Note: this included an employee who had just been hired and another employee who was on the 1st day of their new job.The item that Tom and Marla gave away to every member of the staff was…drumroll please….

“iPads for everyone!!!”

People were crying tears of joy, hearts came to a stop and I think I even saw someone drop their beer bottle from the sheer shock of it all.

All-in-all, it was a great night. We’re all looking forward to having these iPads to increase our productivity at the office and for our clients.

The next item on the agenda: getting the coolest, most functional iPad case and be the envy of everyone in the office.
